DIALOGUE

Marc and Sara are two teachers who are discussing the rights and the wrongs

of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), which is useful to learn

how to use new technologies, as a school subject.

Marc: I’ve listened that school principal is considering making ICT an obligatory

subject. I think it’s a good opportunity for the students. Don’t you agree?

Sara: That’s true, but on the other hand I believe it should be optional. No

everyone feels the necessity of learning how to use new technologies.

Marc: I see what you mean but, in fact, that’s the reason why it must be

obligatory. I mean, nowadays we need technology for almost everything we do.

This way students would be more prepared for the labor market.

Sara: Absolutely, but at the same time new generations already have this

knowledge about ICT, they learn on their own.

Marc: You’re right. Maybe we should ask students for their opinion.
